Bottle Statuses Explained
Understanding the different bottle status options.
Every bottle in your collection has a status that helps you track its state. Here's what each status means.
Status Types
Sealed 🔒
- The bottle has never been opened
- Good for tracking bottles you're saving
- Default status when adding new bottles
Open 🥃
- You've opened the bottle and are actively drinking it
- Most common status for bottles you're enjoying
- Consider logging tastings when you pour from open bottles
Finished ✓
- The bottle is empty
- Stays in your collection for history
- Great for remembering what you've enjoyed
Sample 🧪
- A small sample, not a full bottle
- Useful for tracking samples from friends or tastings
- Typically poured once or twice
Why Track Status?
- Inventory accuracy - Know exactly what's sealed vs. open
- Collection insights - See your drinking patterns over time
- Menu display - Only show certain statuses on shared menus

Changing Status
You can change a bottle's status at any time from the bottle detail screen. The status updates immediately and syncs across all your devices.
