Barcode Scanning
Using your camera to scan UPC barcodes on bottles.
BarrelChatter can scan UPC barcodes on bottles to quickly find them in the catalog. This is the fastest way to add bottles when you're organizing your collection.
Mobile Barcode Scanning
- Tap the Scan button (floating button)
- Point your camera at the UPC barcode
- The app automatically detects and scans
- If found, the bottle details appear
- Tap Add to Collection or view details
Switching Scan Modes
The scan button supports two modes:
- Barcode - Scan UPC codes (camera)
- NFC - Scan NFC tags (hold near phone)
Toggle between modes in the scan screen.
Tips
- Works in good lighting conditions
- Hold phone steady, 6-8 inches away
- Standard UPC barcodes work best
- Some craft bottles may not have UPC codes
